I've never tried with grid. But with matrix, if you take all necessary steps, yes it will automatically update.

Here is what you need.

1. The DBDatasource must be a UDO object.

2. The Form.ObjectType property must be set to the UDO object code of the DBDataSource.

3. Bind the matrix columns with the DBDataSource columns. Especially the DocEntry/Code column.

4. Button ID for OK must be '1' and Cancel must be '2'

5. Form AutoManage property set to true.

Any other than above, you will need to loop and update your self.
