I do agree with the suggested approach. Here our client it want that way where they want to extract, validate, cleanse and load data via some excel or ABAP scripts based approach, As there is no provisions they have to purchase for SAP DS.
Moreover they have very short deadlines to migrate 25 ERP objects with some mild number such as 20-25 K of records with less transformation rules.
Not sure in that case how these packages will help.
