I agree deleting the employee number (in PA30 txn, enter the pers no., navigate to Utilities->Delete Personnel no) and follow though till end of txn. It will come back to the PA30 screen with the pers no. You can see there are no info types showing a tick, meaning the record/s are deleted.
However before resorting to deleting, may I suggest,
a)In PA30, txzn, check if there are any records created except IT 2 (which is normally created as default with validity starting frrom the person's birth date); if so delete or change the validity start date = employee's hire date. Check if this resolves the problem. Else, go to next step.
c)In PA30 initial screen, navigate to 'Utilities->Change entry/hiring date'. This goes to Change actions screen in PA30. If necessary, change IT 0 start date and continue to complete this process.
If you do not change the start date, it returns to PA30 initial screen.
If you change the start date to a previous date, it gives a warning. You can change any other fields available to change eg., reason for action, position id, etc. Press save. IT 0 is saved.
Then it shows at the top the original hiring date and the new hiring date and a list of infotype records created earlier, highlighted or not. Usually IT 2 would not be in this list,
Select each record to be changed with start date = the new hiring date. Press enter or click the tick icon.
It will change the validity start of all the selected records to the new hiring date.
Normally this should be the same as executing a hire action again just for changing the hire date. It does not change any other data in the selected records.
c)If the above does not resolve the error, or you need to change data in any record created already, continue to next step.
d)Navigate to PA40 txn, enter the pers no., then do the hiring action again. It will show IT 0. This should have the correct hiring date.
If not, change the start date. save the record and continue hiring.
If no change in IT 0, click the icon 'Execute info group'. It gives a a warning. Continue the process.
